Slow The Flow launches new project at Broadhead Clough

17th August 2023 News

Slow The Flow volunteers will begin natural flood management work at Broadhead Clough. Broadhead Clough nature reserve is a local Yorkshire Wildlife Trust site, a mature upland woodland in Mytholmroyd’s beautiful Cragg Vale.

Slow The Flow volunteers will start work here in September 2023. The work will enhance and increase the most important habitat of this diverse site, the rare wet woodland bog areas. These woodland bogs can help to slow the flow of floodwater, and reduce the height of the flood peak in our towns and villages; in Mytholmroyd, Luddenden Foot, and further down the catchment looking to West Vale, Elland, Brighouse and beyond.

Join a taster session on 17th September from 10am – 1pm. Learn more here.
