The Elland Flood Warden Group currently focuses on the Park Road area of Elland and provides local support during periods of heavy rainfall and flood risk. The group is currently looking to recruit additional volunteers to expand coverage across the wider Elland area.
There is currently one active flood warden who helps share flood warnings, local information and preparedness advice within the community. They have also been a key point of contact for the Environment Agency during the development of the Park Road Property Flood Resilience Scheme, helping to share information and represent community concerns.
