Join us to celebrate the reopening of Whinney Hill Park

4th November 2026 News

Residents are invited to visit Whinney Hill Park on Friday 6 November and find out more about the improvements delivered through the Brighouse Flood Alleviation Scheme.

The landscape has been designed to create extra space to store floodwater, helping protect the town from future flooding. Alongside these flood protection benefits, the project has enhanced the natural environment, creating a greener park for people and wildlife to enjoy.

An information gazebo will be available between 1pm and 4pm, offering visitors the chance to learn more about how the improvements work and the wider benefits they bring to the area.

We would like to thank local residents, businesses and park users for their patience and support throughout the construction period.
