Applications are now open for a new round of NFM grants, giving Calderdale landowners the opportunity to reduce flood risk while enhancing biodiversity.
The scheme supports low-impact, nature-based solutions such as planting trees and hedgerows and building leaky dams. These simple measures slow water flow, protect communities, and create richer habitats for wildlife.
Managed by Calderdale Council and funded by the Environment Agency, the scheme is unique to Calderdale and was created with local partners to strengthen the area’s flood resilience.

Application deadline: Applications to this latest round of NFM grants will be accepted until 12 noon on Thursday, 15th January 2026.
