New tool to strengthen emergency resilience

11th June 2026 News

A brand new tool is now available for West Yorkshire communities. This tool supports local areas in improving their resilience. It helps groups respond to and recover more quickly from emergencies and major incidents.

West Yorkshire Prepared, the Local Resilience Forum for West Yorkshire, has developed a Community Response Plan, which:

  • Outlines the clear steps community groups should take when faced with an emergency.

  • Shows how taking simple steps in advance can significantly improve community resilience.

The Community Response Plan is designed to be flexible and accessible, whether your group is already actively involved in community response or just starting to think about how you can prepare.
