Climate action roadshow – full events programme released

13th June 2022 News

Together we can slow the flow is a new climate action roadshow taking place across Calderdale this summer to raise awareness about the increasing impact of climate change on our lives.

The roadshow will encourage people living and working in the area to take action to prevent major flooding events given the increasingly extreme weather. It will also educate communities on the many merits of natural flood management and sustainable drainage. Roadshow events include an indoor and outdoor exhibition, giant interactive map of Calderdale, kids’ activities, flood walks, and practical tips and talks on making our valley more flood resilient.

The roadshow has been organised by Slow the Flow, a volunteer-run natural flood management charity, along with the support of partners in Calderdale Libraries, the National Trust, Calderdale Council, the Environment Agency, and the Piece Hall. Funding has been provided by the National Lottery Together for our Planet fund and Yorkshire Prepared.

The varied events programme will take place in towns and high flood risk areas across Calderdale.  Take a look at the full programme below or visit the Slow the Flow website for more information.
