Sowerby Bridge Flood Group was set up to engage with residents and businesses at risk from flooding. The group works with the community to prepare for flooding incidents, ensuring flood plans are in place and updates are provided on social media during bad weather.
During a flooding incident, the group works closely with Calderdale Council, the Environment Agency and emergency services to provide ‘on the ground’ information and bring in additional support if necessary.
