What are Community Support Hubs?
Community Support Hubs are set up in partnership with emergency services and other local partners. They are a safe space where people can get help and advice during a crisis. In a flooding incident, your local Hub may be able to help with clean-up equipment, food, general help, and emotional support.
Where are they located?
As Community Support Hubs are set up in response to an emergency, we are unable to say exactly where each Hub will be located. To ensure the safety of the public and staff, this decision will be made depending on the location, nature and severity of the incident. If a safe location cannot be established or the situation doesn’t require an in-person Hub, the Hubs may be virtual.
In some areas in the Upper Calder Valley which are more regularly impacted by flood incidents, there are well established plans for specific buildings.
How do I find out where my local Hub is?
In a flooding incident, please check Calderdale Council’s social media channels and the latest news section of this website for the locations of Community Support Hubs.
