Promoting NFM to farmers and landowners

22nd February 2024 News

A new video has been produced to show the benefits to farmers and landowners of introducing Natural Flood Management (NFM) on their land and to highlight the advice and funding available to help them.

It was funded by West Yorkshire Flood Innovation Programme (WY FLIP) and features advisors from Yorkshire Wildlife Trust, Wild Trout Trust, Calder Rivers Trust, Colne Rivers Trust, River Holme Connections and the Environment Agency.

The EU Basic Payment Scheme for farmers is finishing. This video will hopefully help get the message out that there is independent, practical and bespoke advice on Nature Based Solutions (NBS) and NFM measures for farmers and landowners and support to match them up to different funding pots, both capital and maintenance payments.

Yorkshire Integrated Solutions Programme (iCASP) has produced a couple of versions of this video:-

·      A 10 minute video that can be shown at events or in meetings to landowners
·      A three minute video, which could be more useful to a wider audience

They are available to watch here.
