About Treesponsibility
Since 1998 Treesponsibility have been raising awareness of the need for action on climate change. Tackling the issue of climate change is huge and can be daunting. Treesponsibility was set up with the idea of giving people the opportunity to take the first positive step of planting a tree. As well as helping to draw down carbon dioxide from the atmosphere, trees help our valley in a particular way. The climate change scenario for the Calder Valley is for increased frequency of heavy rainfall events leading to flooding, with a number of severe events already experienced over recent decades. Trees, appropriately planted, help to mitigate for the risk and severity of flooding.
