A workshop investigating potential for use of a Long Range Wide Area Network (LoRaWAN) as a surface water early warning flood system in West Yorkshire. This is an opportunity for residents of West Yorkshire to give their opinion and steer focus of the Digital Smart Flood Warning systems project. The workshop will take place as below;
DATE: Thursday 12th October 2023
TIME: 12:00 – 15:00 BST
VENUE: Seminar Room 2, School of Geography, Garstang Building, University of Leeds, LS2 9JT.
This workshop will provide an overview of the LoRaWAN, including our current understanding of possible uses for LoRaWAN as an early warning flood system. It will enable opportunity for members of the public, including community flood action groups & flood wardens, to steer focus of the project, including highlighting needs, current challenges and possible solutions which a LoRaWAN may be able to address. We hope to use outcomes from the workshop to build a business case for future funding to implement solutions.
