Climate Resilience: Emergency Preparedness and Response

26th October 2023 News

Have your say on how we can prepare for and respond to regional emergencies resulting from climate change.

Our climate is changing, increasing the risk of direct impacts including flooding, more frequent and severe heatwaves, drought and other severe weather events such as storms and high winds. People across our region will be affected by these events, but by recognising and understanding where our vulnerabilities are and preparing our systems, structures and communities, we can reduce or even prevent negative impacts and avoid emergency situations.

Here you will find a link to a draft paper, bringing together the themes, thoughts and existing research and informed by the Yorkshire and Humber Climate Commissions Delivering Impact session on this topic, setting out actions we can all take in the region to prepare for the inevitable impacts of our changing climate.

Please read the paper and complete the survey.
