Boosting Flood Resilience

19th December 2024 News

The Environment Agency is enhancing the Calderdale Natural Flood Management (NFM) Grant Scheme with an additional £50,000 to support projects on Erringden Hillside. This extra funding will significantly boost efforts to complement the Erringden Hillside flood alleviation scheme, making a substantial impact on local flood resilience.

The scheme is managed by Calderdale Council and is supported and funded by the Environment Agency. It is unique to Calderdale and was developed in collaboration with local partners to enhance the area’s resilience to flooding.

Calderdale Council’s Natural Flood Management Team offers support for these projects. Funding is available to hire external contractors for project management, as well as assistance in applying for the grant scheme.
