Assistant Project Manager position

Calderdale Council is seeking an Assistant Project Manager for the Calder and Colne Landscape Links (CCaLL) project.

1. Project Overview:
   • The CCaLL project aims to create a rich, climate-resilient mosaic of functionally connected habitats that link valley towns with moorland tops within the Calderdale district.
   • The project focuses on planning and designing nature-based solutions to deliver environmental benefits across the Calder and Colne river catchments.
   • It is funded by the Department for Environment, Food & Rural Affairs (Defra) and has secured up to £750,000 for landscape recovery measures.
2. Role Description:
   • As an Assistant Project Manager, you will play a crucial role in supporting the successful delivery of the CCaLL project.
   • Your responsibilities will include working with partners, stakeholders, and communities to ensure effective project implementation.
   • The project aims to reduce flood risk, enhance biodiversity, and contribute to carbon mitigation efforts in the region.
3. Key Objectives:
   • Climate Resilience: The project seeks to create a climate-resilient landscape by improving biodiversity and enhancing ecosystem services.
   • Carbon Mitigation: Nature-based solutions will be designed to mitigate carbon emissions, aligning with the Council’s goal to be carbon neutral by 2038.
   • Community Engagement: You’ll collaborate with local communities, landowners, and other stakeholders to achieve project objectives.
4. Qualifications and Skills:
   • Relevant experience in project management, environmental planning, or a related field.
   • Strong communication skills to engage with diverse stakeholders.

5. Duration and Funding:
   • The project spans two years and covers approximately 15,000 hectares across the Upper Calder and Colne catchments.
