Weekly update on Mytholmroyd flood alleviation scheme - 25 August 2017

Further progress is being made with the demolition of the three properties along the main road through Mytholmroyd in preparation for work on the £30m flood alleviation scheme. The roofs have been removed and the top floors taken off to the level of just above the ceiling height of the ground floor.

We aim to give residents and local business owners the opportunity to look at the first wave of planning applications during September and talk to staff in the Mytholmroyd Flood Information Centre which is open 10am – 4pm, Mondays and Fridays and 1 – 7pm on Wednesdays.

This week the project team will be talking to residents at the local community centre about plans for the flood alleviation scheme.

Project manager Peter Toms gave an interview on Hebden Community Radio this week about plans to protect the village from further flooding. You can listen to a recording of the show which was presented by Tony Hodgins 10 – 12noon, Thursday 24 August at  http://www.hebdenradio.co.uk/
