Exhibition celebrating post-flood community action - 3-12 November

Joint statement from Hebden Bridge Town Hall and Calderdale Council

A pop-up exhibition is to be held at Hebden Bridge Town Hall to document the redevelopment, resilience and community spirit so unique to Calderdale.

Entitled We rise higher: Celebrating post-flood community action, the exhibition will showcase a series of inspiring large scale photographs by local artists Michael Fairless and Michael Bentley.

It will also feature a pop-up shop from the Watermark Flood Fund and be complemented by an interpretation from the Calderdale Flood Recovery & Resilience Programme showing key milestones in the recovery from the 2015 floods and celebrating the people involved.

There will be two public preview events to mark the opening of the exhibition at 12-2pm and 6-8pm on Monday 5th November, and refreshments will be available. For anyone who cannot make one of the opening events, the exhibition will remain on display until 12th November.

The display will be open to the public 8:30–5pm Monday–Friday and 8:30–3:30pm Saturdays, with the exception of the following dates and times when the space is being used for other events:

  • Wednesday 7th, 8:30 – 12noon
  • Friday 9th, 8:30 – 1pm

We look forward to seeing you there!
